Receiving a contract for her first novel at age 62 shows that “it’s never too late to accomplish your dream, if you don’t give up,” says Marie Wells Coutu, award-winning author and Emmetsburg resident.
Coutu will talk about her journey to publication and what it takes to accomplish a dream during an appearance at the Emmetsburg (Iowa) Library on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 10:30 a.m. She will also be selling and signing her debut novel, For Such a Moment.

I will be signing copies of For Such a Moment at Books on Main in my hometown, along with Rebecca Sprecher, co-author of Flying: A Novel. Becky and I both graduated from Hopkinsville High School and will be back in town for our 45th high school reunion. If you’re in the area, come join the fun from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. that Saturday!

Help raise funds for missions to Guatemala while enjoying a treat at sweetFrog in Manchester Village (572 John Ross Parkway, Rock Hill). Since For Such a Moment is set in Minnesota and Guatemala, sweetFrog will donate 10% of their sales to Mission Housing Ministries for their work with the Maya people of Guatemala. There will be Guatemalan handcrafts on display, door prizes, and a fun and easy craft for kids. Bring your copy of my book or buy one that day and get it signed.
International Christian Retail Show

Several Write Integrity Press and Pix-n-Pens authors will be attending this annual show for Christian booksellers. I will be signing my newly released book, For Such a Moment, from 4 to 5 p.m. on Monday, June 24. If you’re attending, stop by the Christian Small Publishers Association booth and get a book!
