Faithful: For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who is not partial and takes no bribe. Deuteronomy 10:17 ESV

Every time we prepare to embark on a new journey, as Moses was doing when he wrote these words to the people of Israel, this verse provides a good reminder of God’s faithfulness and power.

One translation says, “He does not play favorites.” I have a friend who likes to say, “God loves you, but I’m His favorite.” I like that, because it implies that each one of us is His favorite. He loves every individual with the same great love and limitless affection. I’m thankful that He is faithful to watch over me and go before me. He knows what He has in store for me, and it is good.
