Too many appliances, not enough outlets. Can you relate?
In our bathroom, we have an electric toothbrush, a water pic, a razor, and a hair dryer. And only one outlet.
We leave the toothbrush plugged in all the time, the razor only when it needs charging, and the others only when we’re using them. So it works. Most of the time.
But the other morning, my husband plugged in his razor. When I needed to use my hairdryer, I unplugged the razor with the intention of plugging it back in when I was done.
But I forgot.
If he hadn’t noticed, his razor would not have had any power the next morning when he needed it.
That’s how I feel sometimes when I’ve skipped reading the Bible for a few days. I’m disconnected from the Power I need for my life. Scripture not only provides instructions for how to live; it also reminds me why I was created and why Jesus died.
“For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” (1 Corinthians 1:18, ESV)
Are you staying connected to to the Source of power?
