As we celebrate Veterans Day, our thoughts turn to the sacrifices that have been made over the years to gain and protect our freedom here in the United States.
“America’s fighting men and women sacrifice much to ensure that our great nation stays free. We owe a debt of gratitude to the soldiers that have paid the ultimate price for this cause, as well as for those who are blessed enough to return from the battlefield unscathed.”–Allen Boyd
Most of us know of someone who has sacrificed in great or small ways to serve our country. I remember a woman whose son joined the military and served two tours in Iraq. When he was preparing to return for the second tour, he said to his mom, “I don’t want to go back, but I have to go. It’s my duty.” I think that she, as much as he, was sacrificing for what they both believed in.
Who do you know that serves or has served in our military? Honor them by leaving a comment about them.
